How to maximize solar energy reception on an area without compromising an existing environment?
The canopy has three objectives: to comprise of elements, to be infinitely scalable and to provide optimal effectivity for solar panels. The variable curved geometry is achieved by using four different element geometries only. Depending on the specific site and the project scale, the canopy can adapt to different forms. Solar radiation analysis defines which elements are covered with photovoltaic cells, and which ones are to be glazed to provide natural light to the space underneath. The solution is mainly directed to large parking areas, and it includes options for creating different programs underneath to extend activity beyond the peak hours of parking. The ineffective monoculture of asphalted parking is thus vitalized both socially and ecologically.
